The Valley Lake Lookout and viewing platform is a key feature of the new estate, providing panoramic views across the basalt clifftop of the former Niddrie Quarry, well as the Melbourne cityscape. The 80m elevated and cantilevered boardwalk overlooking the area was part of the rejuvenation of the 48-hectare site. Structural & feature concrete walls with woodgrain off-form finish and stamped concrete paths were also constructed, as part of the design intent to connect the boardwalk with its environment. Feature lighting was installed to provide nighttime access and to accentuate the design textures.

The project won the Victorian Small Projects Award at the 2018 (AILA) Victorian Landscape Architecture Awards.
